Ginger is one of the oldest seasonings to be supposed native to South East Asia, but like a great many other tropical herb of the economic importance, their exact source is doubtful. It is stated in early books of Cina and India. The adventure, Marco Polo, in recording to his journeys during the 13th and fourteenth century, noted that ginger was being cultivated in Southern region China and Malabar Shoreline of India (Leverington, 1983).
According to available famous records, the utilization of ginger in east was as liven and remedies. In Ayurveda, as craminative and stimulating. It is given in dyspepsia and flatulent colic. It is said to get an essential crescendo in all Ayurveda preparation (Govindrajan, 1982). The utilization of ginger in Southern Europe was in ancient Greece and the spices from the east that passes the hands of dealers via Red sea. The leaves are alternative, light green in color, smooth, sessile and may be lanceolate or perhaps linear lanceolate. Each cutting tool has a well toned central ribs. The size of tea leaf is 15-20 com extended and two to three cm vast and it is highly pointed and tends to collapse inwards (Lawerebce, 1984).

Turmeric production in Nepal
